The Nail'd Mod is a weapon modification featured in Dead Island and Dead Island: Riptide. When used at a Workbench, the mod adds light bleed damage and a bleed critical to certain blunt weapons.
The Nail'd Mod is extremely easy to get a hold of and craft. It can be found just 10 minutes or so after starting either game and, unless playing the Game of the Year Editions or the Dead Island Definitive Collection, it's the first mod you'll get your hands on. The mod is very much the 'beginner's first mod' as its very low crafting requirements of $220 and 2 Nails means so long as you've been looting containers or Zombies, you can craft it there and then at the workbench. The mod adds a nice little bonus to damage, slightly higher crit chance and some bleed damage to whatever weapon it's added to which really helps with the early game and considering its low cost, crafting requirements and large selection of applicable weapons, it can be added to a good number of low level starting weapons. Visually, it doesn't add much other than some spiky nails at the end of whatever it's added to, much like the Nailed Plank basic weapon.
The mod is mostly unchanging in Dead Island: Riptide other than lowering the cost by $20 which can mean the difference to a new player. This is however offset by the slightly lower damage and crit chance that the Riptide mod has. RIptide also introduced several more blunt weapons that are applicable with the mod, increasing its usability and usefulness.
The downfall of this mod is its early availability. It's an excellent mod for starting out but upon reaching Moresby it's overshadowed by better, albeit more expensive, bleed mods such as the Barbed Wire Mod or Glazed Mod and eventually the Razor Mod which are just as universal as the Nail'd Mod but have better damage, bleed effect and crit chances. In Riptide, the Diamond Edge Mod can be found quite early on which is more expensive in terms of cash and mod parts but deals more bleed damage with a higher crit chance for a similar amount of applicable weapons. In addition to this, several of the applicable weapons for this mod stop spawning after level 24, such as the Stick and Baseball Bat which slightly limit its availability. Like most other mods, the applied weapon looses a little of its durability permanently, making it break slightly faster than a non-modded version of the same weapon, but this is negligible as the mod is very cheap to maintain.

The BillD Carver C-1 mod includes replacement of all consumable parts, reflow of questionable solder, all service bulletins, the BillD mod (which tightens the power side and replaces all signal path resistors, capacitors and op-amps to modern high quality types, lowering the noise floor and greatly increasing its sonic response) cleaning inside and out. The switches and knobs are cleaned and reconditioned, not just smeared with DeOxit.

I had the Bill D mod and general repairs made on my Carver C-1 pre-amp and I could not be happier with the results. It sounds just as good or maybe even better than it did when I first bought it way back in 1987. If you have any doubts or hesitancy to ship your product to them, don't worry.
